Solve the following problem given below:

Problem: Electric fields, on the other hand, start on positive charges and end on negative charges. While field lines are pictured as coming out of a north pole and entering a south pole they neither originate on the North Pole nor end on the South Pole. They connect in between. So if you had a bar magnet with a north pole on one end and a south pole on the other, why not just saw off the South Pole? Also what's this stuff about conservative fields anyway?
