In groups, compose a bad news email to Emily Coroner. Remember to follow the format for an indirect approach as discussed in class and to write it professionally. Your email must adhere to the indirect approach outlined below. Remember to embed the bad news in a subordinate clause.

Scenario

You work at the Ontario Scholarship Grant Organization. Your organization extends educational grants of $5000 to students who demonstrate exceptional academic abilities (high grades, extra- curricular activities) during their high school education. Students may apply for this grant only one time and the funds must be put towards their post-secondary education. The grant is applied for in the student's final year of high school. The Organization typically receives 100-150 applicants every year, but you are only able to extend the grant to 50 students. You will be composing a letter to a student whose application has been rejected.
