Problem- A 10.0 g mixture of KI and KNO3 is dissolved in 250.0 mL of water. A 20.00 mL portion of this solution is transferred to a volumetric flask and diluted to 100.0 mL with deionized water. A 50.0 mL aliquot of the diluted solution is treated with 2.00 mL of 0.0565 mol/L AgNO3 which precipitates all the I- as AgI. The solution is filtered and treated with KSCN to precipitate the excess silver as AgSCN. 0.0140 g of AgSCN are recovered. What is the weight percent of KI in the original mixture?
