Problem: A 55-year-old woman presents with abnormal movements of the face. A history of present illness reveals that these movements are usually continuous and cause her social embarrassment. She has a past medical history of type 2 diabetes mellitus with neuropathy and gastroparesis, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. Her medications include metformin, gliclazide, losartan, amlodipine, atorvastatin, metoclopramide, and duloxetine. Her physical examination reveals lip-smacking and darting movements of the tongue along with facial grimacing. What is the underlying etiology of this patient's presentation?
