Laboratory examination reveals blood glucose 60 mg/dL, white blood cell count 10,000 cells/µL, creatinine level 1.2 mg/dL, T4 6 IU/L, T3 150 ng/dL, thyroid-stimulating hormone 4 mIU/L, total bilirubin 1 mg/dL, aspartate transaminase 30 IU/L, alanine transaminase 40 IU/L, and γ-glutamyl transferase 56 U/L. Blood smear shows a macrocytic hypochromic picture, and urine analysis reveals no abnormalities. After a detailed history, a substance use disorder diagnosis is established.
