1. Compare population pyramids of countries

  • What is the total population for each country?
  • What is the majority age of population in each country?
  • Are they developing, advanced, or post-advanced countries?
  • Is there anything that stands out as unusual in their pyramid shape?

2. Now compare your countries using the Gapminder tool.

Compare your countries through time on Gapminder using these variable sets, describe in a short sentence what you found happened over time for each:

  • Life expectancy/Income
  • Mean years in school for women 15-24/Babies per woman
  • GDP/capita-US dollars inflation adjusted/Child Mortality

3. Using Gapminder, create your own variable set and, describe your results here. Why did you choose this variable set? What does it reveal about the economic inequality between the two countries? Explain how your variable reveals more about the link between the biological and the social.
