An air parcel with mass = 150 kg is traveling at 15 meters per second due east at 38 degrees North at an altitude of 5500 meters. The parcel also has a downward velocity of 2 meters per second. Assume that the parcel is at the 500 mb level within a horizontal pressure field that increases toward the northeast at a rate of 4 Pascals per kilometer.

(a) What are all of the orthogonal forces on the air parcels (with values)?

(b) What is the total force exerted on the air parcel?

(c) Which force is greatest and why?

(d) Which force is least and why?

(e) What is the final position of the air parcel in 2 hours? Give the final position in relative terms of the final position.
