Since 1983, the U.S. Mint has coined pennies that are made out ofzinc with a copper cladding. The mass of this type of penny is 2.50g. Model the penny as a uniform cylinder of height 1.23 mm andradius 9.50 mm. Assume the copper cladding is uniformly thick onall surfaces. If the density of zinc is 7140 kg/m3 andthat of copper is 8930 kg/m3 what is the thickness ofthe copper cladding? (Assume that the thickness is much less thanthe radius and the height of the penny.)
