Johnson, a 70-year-old lab technician with 40 years' service, was dismissed without cause. Johnson is upset because he loved his job and felt it was important - he was a specialized expert in analyzing infectious disease specimens. Assume Johnson does not have an employment contract with an enforceable notice provision.

What is the statutory minimum amount of notice Johnson must receive?

What factors might a court use in determining his notice and tell me how each of the factors would likely be interpreted in this particular case (ie: would it likely influence a court to award 'more' notice, 'less' notice, or would the factor likely not 'move the needle in any direction'?
