Questions: InvesTech Research is one of many research advisory firms in the investments space. As a finance student, I want you to be exposed to this sort of service and be aware of the costs (e.g., specific investment recommendations that may not align with your investment objectives) and benefits (e.g., excellent coverage of current macro economic climate) associated with such subscription-based newsletters. InvesTech has agreed to provide the newsletter to our class free of charge! I will post the monthly newsletter inside our course when it is released. Your group will track this monthly newsletter and submit a report at the end of the semester. Your group has the freedom to take this project where it wants, but below are items that will likely be included in a complete report.
What is the state of the market currently? And how has it changed over the August, September, October and November newsletters?
What are the highlights and main takeaways from each newsletter?
What are the specific investment recommendations from the newsletters? Were there any changes in their Model Fund Portfolio over the semester? If so, why did InvesTech recommend these changes?
What metrics (or historical perspectives, or similar) did InvesTech provide to support their recommendations over the semester? Were any particularly useful? Do you consider these sound financial tools?
Does your group disagree with any of InvesTech search advice or perspectives? According to InvesTech, where is the market headed? Do you agree?
How does market efficiency play into InvesTech ? Do you think InvesTech believes in market efficiency?
Do you feel like a subscription service like this is valuable tool for you moving forward? Any other insight or applications to our course?
