If you'd asked anyone few years ago what is the safest long-term investment, the answer would have been real estate, unequivocally. The housing boom of early 2000's has fueled the growth of many career in real estate, from appraisers and real estate agents to mortgage lenders and loan processors. In fact many people left lucrative careers to get a piece of the real estate pie. Then came the housing bust of 2008-2011. And everyone left for new careers.

Would you, considering what happened and what you know now, still choose a career in real estate? Explain your decision.
