Part A - Discussion the questions

1- What is the role of the FAA as it relates to the establishment of an approved maintenance program?

2- How can planning conflict with flight dispatch and what are the best ways to resolve the conflict?

3- You are the VP of Maintenance of a sizeable airline. You are told by the Pres to out source at least 50% of your (all inclusive) maintenance operation, what would you out source, how do you pick who you outsource it to, why did you select what you outsourced, and how would you manage quality control, the goal of course, to stay within FAA compliance.

4- What are the differences between QA and QC?

Part B - Minimum of 14pages; including a title page and a reference page. Typed and double-spaced, cover page, with scholarly resources, cited both in-text and on a reference page (per APA format).

In general, I am looking for a paper on the maintenance aspects of some aviation or aerospace subject. For example; the general maintenance on the ISS or the Space Shuttle. Or maybe the Burt Rutan's Spaceship One. Be creative. Modern aircraft are also ok as long as they are fairly complex. However I am not interested in trainers or small GA aircraft. You could also research a system, such as ETOPS or FMS as long as the system is recent and not 10 years old.

I like graphics. You are welcome to include some in your Research Project, however graphics do not count towards the 5 page text requirement.

Leave the completed Research Project and Powerpoint Presentation are due in Week 4.
