Two power supplies are connected in series. The maximum voltage of each power supply is8.3V and 15.0V respectively, and are out of phase by 46.5o with the 15.0V supply leading the former supply.

a) If the supplies are connected such that the negative of one is connected to the positive of the other, what is the resulting maximum voltage produced by the supplies?

b) This time the supplies are connected such that the negative of one is connected to the negative of the other, what is the resulting maximum voltage produced by the supplies?
