Assignment:
1. Pick ONE bioethical issue related to the content of this course which you find particularly interesting and motivating to use for this quarter's summative writing assignment. You must choose one from among the following topics:
2. Do a little background reading to see what the relevant philosophical issues and terms are. Start by looking at the corresponding chapter in our textbook and further reading (listed at the end of the chapter). I also highly recommend looking at the "applying major theories" section of the chapter/topic you've selected since that will be relevant to future steps in this assignment.
3. Find one case study that pertains to the topic you've selected. It must be a documented case or scientific study (like the ones we'll use in our discussions, the "cases for evaluation"). It must be a case or study that can be verified through reputable news outlets, scientific and medical journals, etc (not an anecdotal reddit post or Facebook meme). If you cannot find a suitable case to use on your own, you may use the "classic case file" at the end of the chapter of the topic you've selected.
4. Formulate a few clear and straightforward sentences about the topic and case you've selected. Fill in the following and submit it into the textbox associated with this assignment:
I have chosen topic a because b (Which topic you have selected and why.)
I found the following case x (with some kind of citation/link), that is relevant to topic a because y. (Why the case is morally relevant and interesting to the topic you've selected.)
Your submission should look identical in kind to the sample above (about 4 to 5 sentences)
