Question: (1) Assume that the time between application of a stimulus and detection of a response in a chemistry lab which is defined as the reaction time is normally distributed with a mean of 0.3 seconds and a standard deviation of 0.04.

(a)  What is the probability that a reaction requires more than 0.5 seconds?

(b) What is the probability that a reaction requires between 0.498 and 0.501 seconds?

(c) What is the reaction time that is exceeded 80% of the time?

(2) A printer produces an error on 50 of 1000 pages. If 100 pages are sampled randomly, without replacement, approximate the probability that at least 30 of the pages in error is in the sample.
