A planet can have an atmosphere if the escape speed of the planet is 6 times larger than the thermal speed of molecules in the atmosphere.

Assume an object has the same mass and radius of our Moon and an albedo of 0.2 and orbits the sun in the right position for this condition to be met. Also suppose the atmosphere is molecular nitrogen N_2 (2 nitrogen atoms).
