The composition of gold is expressed in units of carats. Gold rated as 24 carat practically 100% gold. So, 24 carat gold is a pure substance an element. Twelve carat gold is only 50% gold. It is a mixture of gold and other metals. A 0.246 g sample of jewelry is analyzed and found to have 0.17 g of gold. What is the percent gold in the jewelry?
