According to bottledwater.org, per capita consumption of bottled water in the U.S. in 2012 was reported to be 30.8 gallons. Assume that the amount of bottled water consumed per person is Normally distributed with mean 30.8 gallons and standard deviation 10 gallons.

(a) What is the probability that a person in the U.S. consumes at least 40 gallons of bottled water?

(b) 99% of people in the U.S. consume more than x gallons of bottled water in 2012. What is x?

(c) Suppose that in 2013, reusable bottles gain in popularity, so the mean and standard deviation of bottled water consumption are both reduced by half. What is the probability that a person consumes at least 20 gallons of bottled water?
