Question 

A 43 year old male who recently emigrated from Africa reports to the ER in the evening. He complains of a productive cough with blood-tinged mucus, weight loss, poor appetite, fatigue, chest pain with respiration, and night sweats. He reports that other family members were being treated for TB and he had a positive IGRA test done a few days ago. Further diagnostic tests are performed that included lab work and chest x-ray which shows infiltrates and cavities in bilateral lobe physical examination included abnormal lung sounds, enlarged lymph nodes, and abnormal chest X-ray findings. Lab work reveal positive sputum tests for acid-fast bacilli and a positive tuberculin skin tests.
