Jack is a five year old boy who has been diagnosed with a second stage osteosarcoma of his left femur that has metastasized to his soft tissue in the area. Jack is scheduled for surgery starting at 8AM. The OR schedule booking stands for a "Resection of Osteosarcoma Left Femur, Bone Reconstruction Kotz Prosthesis, Possible Latissimus Free Flap, Possible Skin Graft. ICU bed post-op". When you meet Jack he is sitting in his mother's lap and hiding behind his Teddy Bear. When he notices you coming, he starts crying. You also noted that both, the mother and the father, are very anxious. Jack is really holding on to his mother and Teddy Bear screaming when you are ready to take him to the operating room.
