Alternative Hypothesis: The advent of a new literacy program has not substantially improved literacy at the Belize Rural Primary School and Horizon Academy in Belize as evidenced by assessment results. Null Hypothesis: The advent of a new literacy program has substantially improved literacy at Belize Rural Primary School and Horizon Academy in Belize as evidenced by assessment results.

List of variables to answer the hypotheses are as follows. After each variable the variable name used and the level of measurement (binary, nominal, ordinal, interval, or ratio) is identified. 

School: Name of school student attends (1 = Belize Rural Primary School; 2 = Horizon Academy)

Gender: Student gender (1 = Male; 2 = Female)
