(Use ODU online library or Google Scholar). Include a reference list (Align with APA guidelines). Proper in-text citation is required. The goal the literature review on your topic is to summarize the existing scholarly research on your particular topic.
1. Organize your literature review
2. Organize your literature in paragraphs: first by thinking broadly to then a narrow focus: This helps put your research study in context and provide arguments about why your study is important and will fill a gap in the current literature.
3. To help you with your literature, do the following:
read the introduction in the four articles provided and see how it is organized.
read thoroughly the five peer-reviewed papers you selected based on your research question
take notes. Identify areas they agree on
narrow down your topic by finding one or two areas of disagreements among your identified five articles, and
build a case for your study by outlining one area the literature has NOT addressed (this is what is called a gap in the literature)
a good strategy is also to look at recommendations for future research as you read through your identified papers. These recommendations are areas that need to be explored.
in building your case, you should point out the importance of your research question and tell us why we should care about the question you want to study.
