Case Study: Instructions Personality changes Asmah is a nurse. having graduated with top honours from both college and nursing school. she is presently a staff nurse at a GrandHope hospital. Her first year has been great. she was nominated as best employees of the year. However, her second year on the job turn to be upside down. She begun to suffer stress due to increase workload and her supervisor's negative attitude. Amar is Asmah's supervisor. he is often preoccupied with his status. power and superiority. His grandiose sense of self-importance often leads him treating Asmah as if she is inferior to him. Often. he has lack of empathy and consideration for Asmah. Amar is a highly manipulative person, he often blames Asmah for every problem at her department. As a result of a constant pressure Asmah believe that she is not capable of being a nurse and started to develop sense of worthlessness and feelings of shame. which are mainly caused by her supervisor. Asmah's behaviour eventually took a drastic turn for the worst. She was unable to fully concentrate at work. and she often called in sick or miss her duty without any notification. She loves her job. but the situation causes her to hate her workplace. Her friends are in the opinion that Asmah's is just simply being lazy and not serious about her work. Her changed behaviour also became obvious to her family members. Her mother often overheard her crying at night in her room, Out of concern for her, Asmah's mother tried to communicate with her by asking herwhat was troubling her. Unfortunately, Asmah refused to confide hertroubles in her mother. As Asmah continued to conceal her problems. she eventually found herself constantly thinking about being a different person and having a different life. Her depression progressively worsened. due to her constant feelings of shame and unworthiness.
