Centralized: A centralized structure is based on control from a central site. Remote sites follow the dictates of the central site. Banks and insurance companies are usually organized in a centralized structure.
Decentralized: A decentralized structure is based on autonomous or semi-autonomous decision making by remote sites. Franchises and professional sports leagues are usually organized with a decentralized structure.
