Health operations management is concerned with the management of various processes that make an organization function so that it can produce and/or deliver its products and/or services to customers/patients in the most efficient, safe, and cost-effective manner possible. There are several operational challenges that affect healthcare operations today (e.g., staffing, capacity management, supply chain management, patient wait times, inefficient processes, etc.).

To begin, you must understand what operations mean, and how to address the multiple functions contained in operations. Before you engage in this week's discussion, watch the following video:
