An electric motor is plugged into a standard 120V electrical service. At startup a current of 23.4A is measured. What is the back emf if an operating current of 5.4A is measured once the motor is operating at speed? If a resistor is added to limit the in-rush (starting) current to 10A. What vaule is needed and what is the operating current with the new resistor added.
