There are 500 stations in a network. Each of the stations transmits 400 frames/second, and the size of one frame is 2400-bits. As, we know in addition to the application data, different protocols add differently sized headers with application data before they are sent through the media. The additional data from protocols are called overhead. For example, TCP adds 20 Bytes overhead, UDP adds 8 Bytes overhead, and Ethernet II adds 18 Bytes overhead with each frame. Also, routing protocols add overhead when separate routing information between routers in the network is exchanged. For example, Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) routing protocols send Hello packets every 10 seconds, and the size of the Hello packet is 2 Bytes, Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocols (IGRP) send Hello packets every 5 seconds, and Routing Information Protocol (RIP) protocols send the entire Routing table every 30 seconds and assume the size of the routing table for each of the routers is approximately 100 KB. Traffic load calculation should take these protocol overheads into account. Assume there are 15 routers in the network, and the routers are using the RIP protocol. So, based on the given information, please prepare the answer for the following ten questions:
1. What is the offered load in the network in Mbps? 2. What is the Routers' overhead in the network in Mbps? 3. What is the stations' overhead in Mbps for the TCP protocol? 4. What is the stations' overhead in Mbps for the UDP protocol? 5. What is the stations' overhead in Mbps for the Ethernet II protocol?
