Question: Analyze the following experiment and answer the questions below. A scientist notices that a specific mold inhibits bacterial growth on a petri dish. She believes the mold produces a substance that will be effective in fighting off infection caused by the bacteria. The scientist purifies the mold secretions into a spray. She grows 15 petri dishes  of bacteria and sprays them with mold spray. She grows a separate group of 15 petri dishes (Group 2) of bacteria and does not spray them. She incubates both sets of bacteria at 37" Celsius for 24 hours. After 24 hours, the scientists checks the petri dishes and finds Group 1 had no growth, and Group 2 had substantial growth. The scientist determines the mold produces a substance that inhibits the bacterial growth.
