I. Blood is a special fluid that circulates throughout our bodies, delivering essential nutrients, oxygen, and hormones to our cells. Blood also helps remove waste products and carbon dioxide from our tissues. It's like a superhighway, keeping everything running smoothly. One of the most fascinating things about blood is its composition. It's made up of different components, including red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets, and plasma. Red blood cells carry oxygen to our organs and tissues, while white blood cells help fight off infections and keep us healthy. Platelets play a crucial role in blood clotting, preventing excessive bleeding. blood is its ability to adapt. It can change its flow, temperature, and even the size of blood vessels to help regulate body temperature and maintain overall balance. It's like our body's own built-in thermostat! Blood is also a vital part of our immune system, helping to defend against harmful invaders like bacteria and viruses. Blood transfusion is a medical procedure where blood is taken from a donor and given to a recipient who needs it. It's a way to replace blood that has been lost due to injury, surgery, or certain medical conditions.Blood is incredibly important, It's like the life force that keeps our bodies functioning. Without blood, our organs wouldn't get the oxygen and nutrients they need to work properly.

II. The video talked about blood and what makes it special. There are 8 types of blood in total, and it makes up 8% of a person's body weight. Now blood can be classified as connective tissue, this simply means it is made up of living cells that are attached to a nonliving matrix, when dealing with blood that non-living matrix is referred to as plasma, this is a fluid ground substance. Blood has many jobs in the human body, it transports and then distributes oxygen, nutrients, waste products, and finally hormones. But that's not the only thing it does, blood is key in regulating and maintaining a human's body temperature, pH levels, and fluid amount. That's not all it does, it's also protection against infection and loss of blood. What is blood composed of? It contains many things, like cells/cell fragments, water, plus a whole bunch of dissolved molecules. Whole blood has 3 distinct layers, starting from the bottom and working up are the erythrocytes or more commonly referred to as red blood cells(RBCs), which carries oxygen and carbon dioxide this makes up 45% of our blood. Next are leukocytes or white blood cells, these are a defense against toxins/foreign microbes. The top layer of blood is plasma, this makes up 55% of whole blood. A concept that is still challenging is remembering what each layer of blood does.
