Case Study: You are a Master of Science in Accounting student at the University of South Africa. Even though life has not always been perfect, you are given the opportunity for a top education that many people around the globe dream about. You are grateful and wish to use your new skills to foster a sense of purpose through altruism.
For this assignment, assume that you work for a company that promotes volunteerism. (Hopefully this is a reality, and not only an assumption!) Your company is seeking to provide support to local charity or non-profit organization that serves the economically underprivileged population. Alternatively, your employer may actively facilitate internal initiatives (e.g. PwC Charitable Foundation). Devise an initiative where you can apply your new accounting knowledge to help economically underprivileged populations. You are the primary architect and director of this initiative. If you currently serve in an initiative that uses your accounting knowledge to serve economically underprivileged populations, you may incorporate it into this assignment. If not, then think of any local charity or non-profit organization that you may enjoy working with. Again, the initiative should incorporate your accounting knowledge. Compose a letter to someone in the leadership of your current employer. If you are not currently employed, address the letter to leadership in a company that you wish to work for. Provide the details of your proposed initiative to assist economically underprivileged populations with your accounting knowledge. Review the Effective Writing Checklist Effective Writing Checklist - Alternative Formats for evaluation criteria. Letters should be concise; however, claims should be substantiated. Use footnotes to cite any sources. Compose your letter with reliance upon directives from this module.

Where will these resources come from?
What are the risks to be considered?
