It seems as if many times a year a business or organization is in the papers for violating the law, corporate social responsibility or other ethical issues. 

As a business professional you will be asked to research and present your findings on a multitude of things. This research is usually delivered to a team lead or program manager in a report, presentation, or teleconference.

This activity is going to help you hone those skills for the future.

Articles on corporate ethics and social responsibility regularly appear in business journals and newspapers. find one article discussing one of the following ethics or social responsibility challenges faced by a business:

• Environmental issues, such as pollution, acid rain, and hazardous-waste disposal
• Employee or consumer safety measures
• Consumer information or education
• Employment discrimination or diversity initiatives
• Investment ethics
• Industrial spying and theft of trade secrets
• Fraud, bribery, and overcharging
• Company codes of ethics

Who is involved, what laws are being broken, who is affected, what business is doing about it, etc.

Using the article you found, write a report answering the following questions:

• What is the nature of the ethical challenge or social responsibility issue presented in the article?
• Does the article report any wrongdoing by a company or agency official?
• Was the action illegal, unethical, or questionable and who was affected most?
• What course of action would you recommend the company or agency take to correct or improve matters now?
