Question: Locate an article describing a collective bargaining dispute five that has arisen within the past years. (This is not an essay on collective bargaining. You will select a specific labor-management dispute and respond to the questions based on that dispute.) This article should be from a newspaper, an academic journal, or a credible online news source (try searching Collective Bargaining, Strikes, Labor Disputes).

Respond to the following seven (7) questions:

1. What is the nature of the collective bargaining dispute?

2. What are the underlying causes of the dispute? (What background circumstances resulted in this dispute?)

3. What economic and/or ethical pressure did each side use to prevail in the dispute?

4. Discuss any evidence of illegal or unethical conduct on either side, describe it in detail.

5. Was the dispute resolved? If so, how? If not, what are the possible resolutions? (Remember you must include a discussion for both sides - management and labor.)

6. What, if any, role was played by third parties in resolving this bargaining dispute? What was the identity of the third party?

7. In retrospect, could this dispute have been resolved in a more constructive manner? If so, how?
