LGBTQI+ people are also subject to extensive and growing violence from both private actors and the state. Despite the massive scale of this gender-based violence problem, perpetrators are rarely held accountable. Victims are often left without support from public authorities or their families and communities. Choose a broad or narrow national or thematic case of gender-based violence (e.g. rape as a weapon of war in DRC; missing and murdered aboriginal women in Canada; domestic violence in Central America; sexual harassment and assault brought to light by #metoo; human trafficking in Ohio; gay bashing in Russia; violent threats against drag shows in the US, etc.) and answer the following questions:
