Levy & Sidel: Chapters 12, 13, 15
Respond to the discussion board post (located in the Week 7 module)."What changes have been made to health care in the U.S. since Trump has taken office? How do you believe that these changes relate to the issue of health disparities and social justice in the United States?"
Levy & Sidel Chapters 14, 20 and 21
Choose one of the topics (e.g., mental health, nutrition, infectious disease) covered in the readings for Weeks 7-10 and answer the following questions for the particular topic:
• What is the prevalence of this health outcome/topic for:
o the global population?
o entire U.S. population?
o Commonwealth of Virginia?
If you can't find prevalence estimates for global, U.S. and/or Virginian populations-then please explain all of the steps that you took to attempt to obtain this prevalence information.
• What is the national prevalence of this health outcome within the population you selected for your paper? For your population, is the prevalence higher, lower or the same as the national average for the general population? Explain why you think the prevalence of the health outcome is higher, lower or the same as the national average for your specific population.
You can get specific for your selected topic. For instance, if you selected "mental health" as the topic for this homework assignment, you could narrow it down to depression.
Do not choose a topic that you have already written about in your submitted paper (for instance if you wrote about nutritional health outcomes in your Paper Part I, please do not select the topic of nutrition for this assignment).
As always, please cite any sources you use.
