The federal health IT goals can, in part, be addressed through the use of technology applications (apps) in nursing practice. In this discussion, consider the different technology applications (apps) you have used in your nursing practice. Common examples include pharmaceutical reference apps and exam preparation apps, though you may choose to discuss any app familiar to you.

In your initial post, write a review of a desktop or mobile healthcare app you have used. In your review, address the following:

• What is the name of one healthcare app you have used, and what type of information does it provide (e.g., pharmaceutical reference, exam preparation)?
• In what context have you used the app?
• How would you rate the app, and what is your rationale? Use a scale of 0-5 to rate the app. A rating of 0 would be an ineffective or poorly designed app, while 5 would be a highly effective app for your purpose. You may find it useful to discuss the positive and negative aspects of the app in your rationale.

In response to your peers, select posts that include an app with a different purpose than the one you chose. Then address the following:

• Do you have personal experience with the app? If yes, compare your experience with that of your peers. If not, compare how similar apps or strategies are useful in your setting.
• How else could the app your peers identified be used? Consider how it might apply to different practice settings.
