An active 80-year-old woman presents to the community health clinic for a follow-up on her recent DEXA scan. She is found to have a T-score of -2.8, down from a T-score of -2.0 found 4 years ago. Her laboratory results, including a CBC, CMP, and 25-hydroxyvitamin D, are within normal limits. She has no history of fractures but has had one fall in the last year. She has a history of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) that is well-managed with an H2-receptor antagonist. What is the most appropriate therapy for this patient?
