Mary is having her labor induced with Pitocin, and is being monitored by external fetal monitoring. Her contractions are occuring every 2 minutes and are lasting 95 seconds. The strength of the contraction is 75 mm of Hg on the scale for the intrauterine pressure catheter. The 145 BPM with moderate variability. Her nurse, Mildred, notes a pattern of uniform decelerations that begin at the peak (acme) of each contraction. The FHR falls to 115 BPM before returning to the baseline about 30 sec. after the end of the contraction.
