1.You're volunteering for a non-profit organization that takes old furniture, repairs it, sands it and polishes it so it can be donated to those in need. You've been placed in charge of the sanding and polishing work centers that have historically been very inefficient at scheduling the projects. You remember something from OM 370 about "Johnson's Rule" and want to apply it to incoming projects to minimize the total time required to complete both tasks. You have the following tasks (in minutes) scheduled for the afternoon.

a. You know from the history files how long it will take for each individual project and task (sand, polish). Using Johnson's Rule, determine the correct project sequence.

b. Using Johnson's Rule, what is the minimum time required (in minutes) to complete both tasks?

c. Based on your answer in part b. How much idle time will the polishing work center have?
