1. A roller coaster leaves the loading point with an initial acceleration a=g. To increase the thrill of the roller coaster ride, the first section of track turns to the left so that by the time the car arrives at point P it is accelerating at 4g.
What angle, θ, should the arc subtend so that a=g at point P?

2. Another ride is a rotatng cylinder in which the riders step inside a vertcal cylinder and stand with their back against the wall. The cylinder spins very rapidly and at some angular velocity the floor drops away.

a. If the radius is 2.10m and the coefficient of statc fricton between the wall and the people is 0.39. What is the minimum angular velocity at which the floor can be withdrawn?

b. If the park buys a larger ride with a radius of 2.50m what will be the new minimum angular velocity at which the floor can be withdrawn.

c. Will there have to be a weight limit on the ride at either radius, why or why not?
