Two structural steel shafts with flanges forged on their ends are rigidly connected with a circle of bolts. The shafts are meant to rotate in their supports at A and D, however a 100 N · m torque is applied to flange B while the shafts are locked and prevented from rotating at A and D. Shaft AB has diameter 20 mm and shaft C D has diameter 30 mm. What is the maximum shearing stress that occurs in a shaft?
