For your Assignment this unit, you will be completing two parts. Both parts may be combined in one document. In part I, you will discuss stages of the employee life cycle.
Begin by listing the stages of an employee life cycle. Then, you will write about the following:
Imagine you are the office manager for a medical office that is currently in need of a medical biller/coder. You need to create a job advertisement for this position. The advertisement will be posted in your local newspaper and on various professional online job search engines. Your Assignment is to create a job announcement which will include: job title, job description, duties, required experience, and required education.
After you have created your job announcement, create a list of benefits that are offered and describe what each one entails (after certain months of employment). Include: type of medical insurance (will you offer a Cafeteria 125 plan, HMO?), life insurance, unemployment, sick leave, vacation time, bereavement leave, maternity leave, and leave of absence. Next, write about what type of training the employee will receive and for how long? (Will the training be provided by staff member or office manager? What will the duration of the training be? One week? Two? Will there be any out of office training?) Which benefit is the most commonly offered?
