1. Based on the reading "The Parts of a Paper," what are some of the best practices for an effective introduction? Please don't quote extensively but refer to the reading in your response.
2. You must have stated a hypothesis in your proposal. Now, you have to start thinking about the tentative thesis statement for your research paper, which mostly tends to be the revised version of the hypothesis. What is it going to be? State your tentative thesis in the first paragraph of the response to this question.

The detractors argue that the project undermines America's foundation, some of them going to the extent that it is unpatriotic.
