Use "Citizens United v FEC, 558 US 310 (2010)" to answer the following questions:

Case name and citation.

Facts: Name of the case and its parties, what happened factually and procedurally, and the judgment.

(a) Facts of the case: What actually happened, the controversy.

(b) Procedural History: What events within the court system led to the present case -Procedural History is usually minimal and most of the time irrelevant to the ultimate importance of a case; however, this is not always true. One subject in which Procedure History is virtually always relevant is Civil Procedure.

(c) Judgment: What the court actually decided - The Judgment is the factual determination by the court, in favor of one party, such as "affirmed," "reversed," or "remanded."

Issues: What is the legal dispute or legal issue? A statement/question of the law examined in the case.

Holding: The applied rule of law. Indicate the vote. Give a short indication of the disposition or procedural resolution of the case.

Rationale: Reasons for the holding - Usually found in the majority decision/opinion) Indicate the author of the majority opinion. Indicate the author of the opinion. Set out the rule of law as announced by the Court. Succinctly explain the rationale of the Court in reaching its' decision. Include an application of the general rule or rules of law to the facts of the case.

Dissent (s) (if valuable dissenting opinion exits, the dissent's opinion). Indicate the author of the dissent, and their reasons. Remember, the dissenting justice completely disagrees with the result.

Comments: Personal commentary- Personal comments can be useful if you have a thought that does not fit elsewhere. For this class, please explain briefly why this case is important. Briefly discus and support why you agree or disagree with the decision.
