A block of mass 1.7kg is in a spring (k= 250N/m^2) compressed 3.0m. The spring is frictionless, but friction exists past the equilibrium point. u_s=.44 & u_k=.32. The track goes horizontally a distance 25m and then up a ramp of angles 45 degrees to the horizontal.

a. What is the initial mechanical energy of the system?

c. What is the mechanical energy at the bottom of the ramp?

d. If there is friction on the ramp as well, what is the height the block goes up the ramp before it stops?
