To monitor the breathing of a hospital patient, a thin belt (a 200-turn coil) is placed around the patient's chest. Suppose that the belt has a radius of 20cm and when the patient inhales, the belt expands to a radius of 20.5cm. The magnitude of the Earth's magnetic field is 50.0µT and makes an angle of 50o with the normal to the coil. Assuming that a patient takes 1.80 s to inhale, find the average induced emf in the coil during this time. What is the induced emf when the person exhales over the same time interval? What would a voltage versus time trace look like on a monitor screen as the person inhales and exhales?

Block rests on a horizontal plane : A 5.00 kg block rests on a horizontal plane. A force of 10.0 N applied horizontally causes the block to move horizontally at a constant velocity. What is the coefficient of kinetic friction between the block and the plane?
Determine frequency of oscillations-maximum speed of mass : A 1.5-kg mass attached to spring with a force constant of 20.N/m oscillates on a horizontal, frictionless track. At t=0, the mass is released from rest at x=10.0 cm (That is, the spring is stretched by 10.00cm)
A mass is oscillating on a spring with a period : A mass is oscillating on a spring with a period of 4.60 s. At t=0 s the mass has zero speed and is at x=8.30cm. What is the value of t the first time after t=0s that the mass is at x=4.15?
