Assignment:
Design a Sales Promotion Design and plan a three month sales promotion for Amazon. Remember, a sales promotion does not literally have to result in sales; you can only design and place marketing communications, and your company doesn't necessary sell anything online. Think about the Crayola sales promotion I showed you. Sure, ultimately they hope more crayons were sold, but sales are never the goal of marketers or marketing communication. So your first task is to figure out what you can offer of value and what it is you want to be able to gather and measure.
It could be to drive registrations to some place on your company's website that already registers new or existing customers. It could be to offer something of value, like an insider report, in exchange for emails. It's up to you to come up with the idea for your campaign. You do not need to write or design the ads-professional artists and copywriters will do that. You are the director of the campaign; you must plan how all the pieces will work together, then give instructions to the media buyers and others to "make it so." Design and explain the following:
1. What is the offer or call to action?
2. What is the incentive for the user to take the desired action?
3. What, exactly, is the action you want people to take? (It could be to fill out a form.)
4. Where, exactly, will they take this action? (It could be a form on a particular page or section of your company's website.)
5. How will you promote the offer using paid media? (Use at least one form of social media advertising, one form of display advertising, and one search ad.)
6. How will you use email marketing in your campaign?
7. How will you measure success at the end of the campaign? List all the metrics you can count and conversion rates you will be able to calculate from the data.
