Firing someone is not an easy task for the manager or the HR professional, but sometimes it is necessary. You have recently been promoted to the HR Director role in your organization. Upon review of all the procedures, policies and activities you have discovered that rather than having progressive discipline conversations that lead to a process of corrective behavior or dismissal, managers have been reducing work hours, giving these employees unpleasant tasks, making them work late at the last minute without warning, or negatively modifying their jobs with the hope that the employee will quit.
