Case Study: The purpose of our primary research investigation is to study the bacterial resistance and therapeutic outcomes for clindamycin, erythromycin, and doxycycline on the following forms of acne: acne vulgaris, rosacea, and hidradenitis suppurativa (HS).
Bacteria samples of each acne-causing bacteria were taken from several people of the same race group and age range. For each bacteria, there will be samples with different experiences with medication (never used, moderately used, heavily used). Different common acne medications were then tested on the collected bacteria of each sample and the zone of inhibition was measured for each in order to find a correlation between bacteria, medication, and history of use.
WRITE AND ANSWER THE FOLLOWING PARTS AS IF THIS WAS A PART OF THE PROPOSAL:
Question 1- What is the hypothesis that you are testing? What are the questions that you seek to answer? Based on what is known in this field, explain what you expect to see and hope to show through your result? This is where you share your thoughts.
Question 2- Literature Review (this part can be brief but lengthy enough as if ti was a draft and explains how it will used) : begin with the basics of your research topic and then narrow the focus of those details that are especially pertinent to the proposed work. Present what is currently known by scientists working in your field of study and how these discoveries were made. This is the place to show what is interesting and cutting-edge in the field that led to your research idea. You are laying the groundwork for your proposal with the material that you present. Use a plethora of sources, especially primary sources such as journal articles. Textbooks, web sites (with great caution) and personal communications with professors can also be useful sources. Make sure to cite appropriately in the text (more to follow on citation) (APA STYLE 7)
Question 3-Explain Now that you have begun the process of writing about your own primary investigation, how do you plan to use your literature review to justify your proposal? How will you make the literature review "fit in" with the rest of the research proposal?
