The arm of a person weighs 41.5N, which acts at the center of mass that is located 29.0cm from the rotation point in the shoulder. The deltoid muscle on your shoulder exerts a force, Fd, and is attached to the humerus (upper bone in your arm) at a distance of 8.00cm away from the shoulder joint. Because the deltoid muscle is located above the arm, this force is acting at a 12.0 degree angle when measured from the humerus bone.

1.) What is the force required by the deltoid muscle, Fd, to hold the arm parallel to the floor?

2.) What is the force exerted by the shoulder, Fs, on the humerus to hold the humerus in place?
