In the below scientific method, what is the Experimental group and the controlled group.

1. Research Question: What is the effect of short-term or long-term consumption of fast food on heart health?

2. Hypothesis: Consumption of fast food will have a negative effect on heart health.

3. Test: To test this hypothesis, I would measure body mass index, cholesterol levels, and other relevant blood tests at the beginning and end of the experiment. I would also ask participants about their smoking status and other lifestyle factors that could influence the results.

  • These measurements and lifestyle factors will serve as independent variables.
  • The dependent variable will be the heart health of the participants.
  • The control variable will be the amount of fast food consumed.

4. Analysis: I would analyze the data collected to see if there is a correlation between the amount of fast food consumed and the heart health of the participants.

5. Expected Findings: I expect to find that the amount of fast food consumed will have a negative effect on the heart health of the participants.
